Our Church History

Ramah Christian Center was founded in January of 1997 by Pastor Roderick Roberts and the late First Lady Arleen Roberts. This ministry was established for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry and for the edification of the body of Christ. The name Ramah is taken from the Old Testament and simply means “The High Place”. This was the location where Hannah gave birth to the prophet Samuel and also the place of the first recorded School of the Prophets.

Ramah Christian Center was designed to liberate and elevate the minds of God’s people through information, impartation and demonstration of the power and grace of almighty God.

Our Vision Statement

  1. To preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost and dying world.
  2. To provide a place where the hurt, the depressed, the frustrated and confused can find love, acceptance, help, hope, forgiveness, guidance and encouragement.
  3. To provide spiritual counsel and promote the highest standard of Christian living in accordance with the apostle’s doctrine.
  4. To equip and develop spiritually mature Christians, to operate in their gifts and ministries, for the edification of the body of Christ.
  5. To provide ministry to the whole man, such as spiritual, emotional and social needs of mankind.
  6. To provide a loving and caring home called the Ramah House for orphaned, abused, and neglected children of all ages and races.
  7. To develop healthy families through bible classes, seminars, retreats and counseling.
  8.  To train and send ministries to impart and impact the mission field.
  9.  To establish affordable housing for our members and their families.
  10. To plant daughter churches at home and abroad for the purpose of reproducing the same.
For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak and not lie,
though it tarry, wait for it,
because it will surely come, it will not tarry. -Habakkuk 2:3

What We Believe

We believe in the Eternal, Omnipotent God: Holy in nature and purpose. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father; through His Son, in redemption; and as the Holy Spirit, by emanation.
(I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; II Corinthians 5:19; Joel 2:28)
The first of all commandments is, “Hear O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord”
(Mark 12:29; Deuteronomy 6:4).
“One God and Father of all; who is above all, and through all, in you all”
(Ephesians 4:6)

Affiliations

Ramah Christian Center is affiliated with the Jabula International Network directed by Bishop Tudor Bismark of Zimbabwe Africa www.TudorBismark.org with its USA presiding Bishop Hugh Daniel Smith www.jabula-na.org. Jabula New Life International is an institute that seeks to further the work of God’s Kingdom through a system of associated Ministries and Assemblies. Its service is primarily in the area of church and leadership development, “helps” and “administration” and it seeks to create structures by which we may work together and be governed. We are a group of relevant worshipers who are optimistic about God’s agenda for the day in which we live. We enthusiastically proclaim a message of empowerment, releasing God’s victory and blessings upon this generation. Jabula is a fellowship founded by human beings, governed by human beings, and designed for human beings. It is therefore conceived in order to bless the Kingdom of God. It makes no claim of divine origin except that it grows out of the hearts of its founders as a means to facilitate the work of our Lord. In such a time that the ministries may perceive that this institute no longer serves the purposes founded in our Statement of Purpose, or is no longer faithful to the Consensus of our Beliefs affirmed in its original context, such ministries would feel free to disassociate without guilt. Only God’s church is eternal; our efforts to carry out the temporal aspects of that Church are not. We who, by God’s grace, put our hands to the formation of this institution urge any future leaders: beware the temptation to usurp the divinely bequeathed sovereignty of the churches, the evil that may influence us all to seek to dominate others in God’s Name, and the stifling accumulation of irrelevant trivialities and complicated legalities. With great enthusiasm over the potential opportunities this Ministry offers, and with a comprehension of the equal potential of misdirection of its noble aim, we here set forth the constitution of Jabula International Network North America.
